Close Protection in Venezuela

Situation

Despite the high crime rate and very precarious security situation in Venezuela, a business trip of the Latin American director of a German corporation was required on short notice.

SmartRiskSolutions was selected among several providers to organise the security during the stay in Caracas.

The security measures for the visit were planned in close coordination with the company's head of corporate security and the head of Latin America. This included recommending a hotel with a high security standard. Before departure, both received a written risk analysis, including planned travel routes.

During the protective operation, the client's corporate security department was always informed about all steps taking place in Venezuela. Upon arrival, the head of Latin America received a detailed security briefing from the executive protection team leader.

Due to the security situation, trips were undertaken in an armoured vehicle. In the event of technical problems, another armoured backup vehicle was on standby. The vehicles were equipped with trackers and the operation was monitored from a 24/7 ops centre.

Outcome

The visit went well and without any incidents. The Latin American director was highly satisfied with the protective measures and the on-site support and continued to use the services of SmartRiskSolutions for subsequent business trips.
