Pascal Michel is the partner and managing director of SmartRiskSolutions. He is a former member of a federal German security agency with many years of operational experience. He is founder and led a training unit that dealt with the protection of personnel during special operations in hostile environments.
He completed numerous training courses with security agencies and special forces units worldwide, including the Hostage Negotiator course of the American police.
Since moving to the private sector, he has consulted with corporations, NGOs and individuals on travel security, crisis management and personal security issues. He has conducted numerous risk assessments and security surveys in Europe, Latin America, Africa, the Middle East and Asia.
He has many years of international experience including the operational support and consulting of corporations or organizations facing kidnapping, threat or extortion situations as well as evacuation operations.
He has created security concepts and led personal protection operations for HNWI and their families. His experience in personal protection also includes conducting trainings for UN and European Commission security teams on covert personal protection operations and protection against terrorist attacks.
In the field of threat management, he received formal training in Germany, the UK and the US, and he regularly advises on complex threat cases.
He was the first civilian to be a Hostage Survival/Conduct after Capture instructor at the International Special Training Centre (NATO Special Forces) in Pfullendorf, Germany.
He lived in Africa for four years. French is his second native language. He is a graduate of the Federal University of Applied Sciences, Department of Public Security.
